Minnesota AG sounds off on Humana

ST. PAUL — Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson said she has had plenty of professional frustration dealing with the Humana insurance company. But it doesn’t reach the personal level of frustration of senior citizens who are customers of the health care carrier.“It’s really scary. Our seniors take great pride in a good credit rating. Many who are hit with a bill are on fixed incomes and can’t afford unnecessary delays,” Swanson said in a telephone interview Friday afternoon.
Humana is one of biggest insurers in the Medicare Advantage market nationwide and does business in all 50 states. About 17 percent of all Medicare beneficiaries nationwide are enrolled in a Humana plan.
