I am a resident of the Conway neighborhood writing
to, in no uncertain terms, condemn the
illiberal vote you are poised to
undertake.
It is neither your duty nor your place to bar legitimate
presidential candidates from your city or
from engaging with residents of
your city. Whatever one thinks of Donald Trump (though I
assure you I am no
fan), it is appalling that a city council, acting in their role as the voice of
a
diverse people in that city, would take a stance so clearly preferential to
one political
ideology. This is the precise opposite of truly liberal
behavior. It is authoritarian liberalism and
should warrant nothing but
complete derision and disgust from any reasonable citizen.
